Today is a great day to reflect on my life…
My mind churns with happiness,
as memories of my life
and thoughts of future living
swirl throughout my brain.
Today is a day to celebrate
the life I have lived
and the life I have yet to live.
So much power and beauty
in the realization of how blessed I am to be alive.
God has blessed and loved me abundantly, beyond belief.
Even when we don’t know it, God is good.
When we don’t feel it, God is good.
Even when we can’t see it, God is good.
When I lived in darkness, God was good.
When I faced death and death looked me straight in the eyes, God was good.
When death seemed like the only solution. The inevitable end of my life on earth.
God said, “No not yet. There is too much beauty and living in this life for you to live.”
Even though I lost so much, I gained more than I could have ever imagined.
I experienced what seemed like almost nothingness, until I reached everything.
Lived in darkness, so I could be a light.
Became broken, so I could become mended and repaired in a more beautiful form of me.
Endured pain and heartache, so I could truly experience the magnitude of joy.
Sharp daggers stabbed me in every inch of my spine, but they did not paralyze me.
They helped me become bolder, stronger and more confident knowing I have survived.
I finally reached a place of peace, love, joy, comfort and contentment I have never known or been before.
I do not know how long this goodness will last, but I will live like it will last forever and at the same time live like it will be my last.
I will appreciate each beautiful moment I have, even the not so beautiful moments. Each moment we are alive is good and has meaning.
When we have no explanation for events in life on earth, there is only one answer to the unsolvable puzzles and questions.
The answer of course, is always God.
When it seems like you have reached your end and you cannot go on any further, that is a lie. You must continue to hold on, for it only means God is not finished with you yet. He is in the process of making your life the masterpiece that He always intended it to become.
It takes time to complete and enhance the canvas He has planned for your life. There is so much more to learn and to become. It takes a lot of time and special care.
We need to be patient. It will happen.
It will happen for you.
You will become the masterpiece God has planned for your life.

Today is a great day to reflect on my life…
because today is my birthday.
I praise God for saving my life, so I could live the fullest life I have ever lived.
I have so much more living to live. I am ready to not only live, but to thrive more than I ever have before.
It will take work, but I am ready.
I am a masterpiece in the works.
Praise be to God. Hallelujah!

“Masterpiece” by Danny Gokey
Know it well It’s ringing in my ears
And I can’t understand
Why I’m not fixed by now
Begged and I pleaded
Take this pain but I’m still bleeding
Head says it’s not working
I’m stuck here still hurting
But you tell me
You shaping the soul in me
You’re moving where I can’t see
And all I am is in your hands
You’re taking me all apart
Like it was your plan from the start
To finish your work of art for all to see you’re making a masterpiece
Beautiful black and blue
Painted in mercy’s hue
I don’t see past this
You see me now
Who I’ll be then
There at the end
Standing there as
You’re shaping the soul in me
You’re moving where I can’t see
And all I am is in your hands
You’re taking me all apart
Like it was your plan from the start
To finish your work of art for all to see
You’re making a masterpiece
You’re making a masterpiece
Head says it’s not working
You’re shaping the soul in me
You’re moving where I can’t see
And all I am is in your hands
You’re taking me all apart
Like it was your plan from the start
To finish your work of art for all to see
You’re making a masterpiece
You’re making a masterpiece
I will be your masterpiece
