Smiling black and white cats,
and a pastel tie dye swirl,
next to a rainbow paisley
and a gray marble print,
carefully measured, cut, folded,
and sewn strategically together.
Every stitch done with time, care and love
because I am a mask maker.
Packaged in plastic
with a note of well wishes,
and a hand-lettered thank you
because I am a mask maker.
Inside a manilla envelope
the journey begins
from Wisconsin to New York,
California and more,
reaching many homes
around the country,
covering faces
and giving an extra layer
of hope and protection
from fears of not knowing
where the virus lives.
Touching and protecting
the lives and faces of many
I have never met,
because I am blessed
to be a mask maker
during the pandemic of 2020.
I BECAME A MASK MAKER
BECAUSE YOUR LIFE IS IMPORTANT TO ME.
AND PLEASE WEAR A MASK

Thank you Carol. It is a blessing for me because I am getting paid to make masks. I make some for free but also get paid. I think I am helping people but they are also helping me because I am getting paid for most of them. Thanks for reading Carol. I hope you are doing well.
