It’s All in Your Head…

When people say your mental illness (of any kind) is all in your head, say, “Yes it is. My illness is in my brain and my brain is in my head.”

Plus, don’t forget to add, “It isn’t all in my head because I can feel it in my stomach and out through my toes, as well.”

And it’s like saying…

Asthma is all in your chest because your lungs are in your chest. Duh.

Tonsillitis is all in your neck because your throat is in your neck. Double duh.

Deafness is all in your head because your ears are in your head.

Blindness is all in your head because your eyes are in your head.

Your toothache is all in your head because your teeth are in your mouth which is on your face which is on your head, as well.

Your baldness is all in your head because your hair is on your head. The difference is that you know it is real because you can see it.

You get where I am going with this…

mental illness meme: Of course it is [in my head]. Where else would my depression be? In my toenails?

mental illness meme: There's no difference between my brain not being able to make correct levels of serotonin and my pancreas not being able to make the right amounts of insulin.
