Today is “Take Your Selfie” Day

It’s time to succumb

to share and have fun.

Today is “Take your Selfie” day.

Just take a “selfie” of yourself… any kind, any way, any pose, however it goes, any look, funny or serious, sulky or mysterious, happy or sad, angry or mad, however you feel.

Take a picture doing whatever you want to do. Be creative or serious. You pick. It’s your choice. Show us you, with all your splendid glorious beauty, flaws and all or no flaws at all. Be brave and take a “selfie” with no make-up, no shower, clean or dirty, messy or dressy. It is up to you.

I think it will be fun and a great way for us to get to know each other better. We can see all of us in many different and fun or serious ways.

Let us be brave and share and expose a little more of ourselves (you know what I mean… c’mon now). I believe it is a very healthy step in our recovery and lives when we learn to open up and be honest of who we truly are as people. Be brave and take that step. Expose more of who you truly are, not hiding behind make up or hiding behind our computer screens. This will be good for me, too.

Whenever you are ready, please share a little more of yourself and take a “selfie.” I want to meet you and your beautiful “selfie.”

Maybe it is a difficult day and you need some distractions from your struggles, obstacle or pain. My “selfie” activity will be a fun and good distraction.

Maybe it is a day we just need a good laugh or just want to see some beautiful people.

Please join me and making this big group of “selfies” so we can see all of the beautiful, amazing and fabulous faces of bipolar, depression, PTSD, mental illness, chronic illness, grief, sorrow, struggles and LIFE and our beautiful blogging community…

I wanted to try something totally different and fun with my blog.

I thought it would be fun if everyone posted a “selfie” of themselves and I would combine all of the “selfies” on a blog post the next day or following day, depending on how busy I am. Just keep peeking at my blog. I will try to combine all the beautiful faces as quickly as I can.

Remember this is new and is the first time I am going to try this. Cross your fingers and toes and hope I can make this work. It will be fun. I will try to do “selfie” day one day a week and each time I will improve the process, hopefully.

Here are the directions:

  1. Take a “selfie” of yourself today (others can be included too, if you would like). The “selfie” can be an older one too. The rules are not that strict. Please just make sure it is a “selfie.”
  2. Copy and paste your “selfie” (or add a link for me) to my comment section or email.
  3. Add a caption or comments, if you wish. You can describe who is in the picture, what you are doing and when the “selfie” was taken.
  4. Add a link to your blog and I will include that with your “selfie,” if you want me too.

That is all you need to do.

I will: “

  1. Combine all the “selfies” and comments together in a beautiful collection ensemble.
  2. Then I will make a post on my blog with the collection of “selfies” the next day or following day.
  3. The post will be titled “Today is ‘Post your Selfie’ Day” (something like that). Please watch for it on my blog for that future post, after today.

We are all beautiful and fabulous, so proudly take your “selfie” and show “yourselfie” off.

Then, I will show off all our many beautiful, awesome and fabulous “selfies” on my post on my blog.

I can’t wait to see the “selfies” coming in.

Please show me your “selfie.”

Show us you. Show us yourself. Show us “yourselfie.”

I hope this will work and if it works I hope it will continue to grow.

This is a fun “selfie” with all my children (and a few others) in an elevator, after my son’s wedding on September 8, 2017. The five people on the left side are all my beautiful children and I am in the top middle of all of them, the second face on the top row on the left side.  (Just an example)

You get the idea…

thank you 2

I didn’t have time to take a selfie of myself yet today, because I have to go to work soon. I will try to take one later though…

Just so you know, today is a very busy day for  me. I have to work until about 11:30 p.m. I am a night owl and seem to wake up at night. so I will see if I can compile all of the “selfies” and captions and comments together and make a post on my blog for Sunday. I will try my best to make it work and finish it by Sunday morning. I have to work at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, so I would love to get it done before I go work on Sunday.

If I cannot finish it by Sunday, I will have it completed and posted by Monday, for sure.

Thank for understanding and participating. I am crossing my fingers and toes and eyes that my idea works and will be fun, enjoyable and a success for everyone. This is just another idea I want to try. I hope it works.

If you are not comfortable doing this, you do not have to participate, of course. No worries. I completely understand…

Have a fabulous, happy and healthy day everyone. Happy Saturday.

Love, hugs and many blessings, Sue
