I Love a Rainy Day (Daily Word Prompt is Sunny)

It’s funny how my favorite day is not sunny.

I love a rainy day.

A rainy day is peaceful to me, creating an overall calming effect to my spirit.

The colors of a rainy hazy gray sky and the sound the rain makes as it falls from the sky is soothing and comforting to my mind.

The smell of a rainy day is refreshing and pure as the rain washes and cleans everything making it sparkling new.

A thunderstorm is even more exciting to me, so much to see, watch and hear all at once.

When I know there is a thunderstorm a brewing, I get excited and quickly start watching the storm.

I am amazed at the sights with wonder and amazement of the magic and power God creates in our sky.

He paints a beautiful canvas in the sky with a palette of many beautiful hues and shades of blues and purple blended together and streaking the sky with color.

Clouds of various sizes, shapes and textures are randomly placed throughout the sky.

The wind creates a symphony of joyful noises as it blows through the revolving leaves and branches of the trees.

There is the rhythm of beats, booming and clacking sounds from the drum section of the band in the sky, as the thunder booms loudly and crackles from the sky above.

There is a light show performance from the electricity of the random lightning bolts as they flash and light up the sky.

I have come to realize that a sunny sky is nice and very bright, maybe too bright for my all ready very bright, shining, sometimes exploding brain.

My mind moves fast, so I want something to match the speed and activity that lives inside my bipolar brain. I love to watch nature when it matches the quickness and variety of thoughts and activity inside my intense rapid moving mind.

My mind sees, feels and experiences things more intensely, visions are brighter, more enhanced and beautiful in my mind. Movements are more than they appear to be becoming abstract to me as I can watch each movement of a tree branch as it floats and moves and each leave overturns upon itself in a circular motion. I want to take it all in.

During a rainstorm, there is so much to watch and see and appreciate as I watch the magnitude of magic God creates in the sky and in my mind as I watch the beauty of it all.

Today is a rainy day and I am happy. I was supposed to mow the lawn, but I can’t mow my lawn in the rain. I am happy about that, too.

I love a rainy day.

I am a Pluviophile.

“I Love a Rainy Night” Lyrics

by Eddie Rabbit

Well I love a rainy night; I love a rainy night.
I love to hear the thunder;
watch the lightning when I lights up the sky.

You know it makes me feel good.

Well, I love a rainy night; it’s such a beautiful sight.
I love to feel the rain on my face;
taste the rain on my lips,
in the moonlight shadows.

Showers wash all my cares away;
I wake up to a sunny day,
’cause I love a rainy night.
Yeah, I love a rainy night.
Well, I love a rainy night.
Well, I love a rainy night, ooh, ooh.

Well I love a rainy night; I love a rainy night.
I love to hear the thunder;
watch the lightning when I lights up the sky.
You know it makes me feel good.

Well, I love a rainy night; it’s such a beautiful sight.
I love to feel the rain on my face;
taste the rain on my lips,
in the moonlight shadows.

Puts a song in this heart of mine;
puts a smile on my face ev’ry time,
’cause I love a rainy night.
Yeah, I love a rainy night.
Well, I love a rainy night.
Well, I love a rainy night, ooh, ooh.

Well, I love a rainy night.
Yeah, I love a rainy night.
Well, I love a rainy night.
