“Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.”
— Eleanor Roosevelt
Idle chatter about others can bring great harm to many people,
including yourself.
Gossip is idle talk, making fun of others, or rumors
about personal or private matters of others.
Some people thrive on gossip and look for opportunities to destroy others,
somehow making themselves feel better during the process.
Stay away from people who speak negatively and gossip.
They can easily lead you astray and cause you to follow in their gossip footsteps,
bringing you down with them on their same negative road of gossip.
Even listening to gossip is wrong,
so try your best to stop people from gossiping
A juicy bit of gossip can be scandalous and improper,
and is not juicy at all,
but is dried up, sour, bitter, hurtful and cruel words.
You think people cannot hear your gossip,
but God hears it loudly.
You think people are not hurt by your gossip,
but God is very hurt by your unkind words.
You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. Exodus 20:16
He who guards his mouth and his tongue, Guards his soul from troubles. Proverbs 21:23
Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3
Keep your tongue from evil And your lips from speaking deceit. Psalm 34:13

Psalm 19:14 is one of my go to scriptures. “that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your site oh Lord my strength and my redeemer.” Also Ephesians 4:29 “but let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace.”
