Meryl Streep Quotes Carrie Fisher

Take your broken heart, make it into art

– Carrie Fisher

Meryl Streep Remembers Carrie Fisher in her powerful Cecil B. DeMille Award Acceptance Speech at the Golden Globe Awards last night. The entire speech was awesome.

If you missed The Golden Globes last night on January, 8 2017, you should try to listen or read Meryl Streep’s speech as soon as you can. I will try to get the entire speech and post it on my blog as soon as I get a chance.

Most importantly though, I really wanted to share this quote by Carrie Fisher. Meryl Streep ended her speech with this quote.

Meryl Streep and Carrie Fisher were good friends. Meryl played Carrie’s character in the movie “Postcards on the Edge” which was a movie based on the memoir written by Carrie Fisher. Now I am reminded of the movie and would like to see it again as it has been such a long time since I have seen it.

I have read and still have her first memoir “Wishful Drinking.” Of course, I read this a long time ago and I want to read it again and am also interested in buying and reading her other books as well.

Even though I was not a movie star or famous in any way shape or form or even remotely close to it, we had many similarities in our lives due to our severe Bipolar Disorder symptoms.

As you know we can all learn so much from reading books by other bipolar disorder survivors and learn that we are not alone. Her books are filled with honesty and humor at the same time.

Plus, she was so funny and I love how she chose to write and speak about her illness with humor and in a positive manner. This was one of the many reasons I admired her so much.

I love and admire Carrie Fisher and am saddened by her loss. She was a survivor of both bipolar disorder and addiction and was a strong and awesome advocate for both.

I love this quote. The words are so glorious, beautiful, important and appropriate for all of us!

Let us all do what this quote says to do and do it soon, loudly, boldly and beautifully for all to see.

Let us all reach, teach and touch many people’s lives in a positive, educational, empathetic, compassionate, loving and beneficial way.

Let’s reduce and erase mental illness stigma and be the voices for many.
